Who I am? Short introduction about the Founder and General Manager

My name is Albert Sanchez, CEO of Wetouring. For the last 10 years I have been working with and for DMC inbound operators mainly in the Asian continent. I have experience in having worked directly in destination, specifically Thailand where I lived for 7 years. I have had the opportunity to work in different departments within the inbound (customer service, operations, reservations, commercial and sales) giving me a comprehensive knowledge of its operation.

How it started everything?

I had been living in Thailand for more than 7 years and where I was working for 3 local DMC – inbound tour operators. Until the moment came when I decided to return to Spain and I proposed to the DMC (with whom we still collaborate today) to continue working without changing my tasks and responsibilities. By then is when I founded Wetouring, on February 1st, 2020. At first it was a formality to be able to continue collaborating and that at the administrative level it was not an impediment. Right after the pandemic broke out and that is when I started to think about collaborating with other DMC’s and developing the representation to new destinations.

Currently we represent 5 DMC’s and more than 20 exotic destinations.

Who we are?

In general terms, Wetouring is a travel sales representation company focused on DMCs (Destination Management Companies) that are interested in developing the Spanish-speaking market (Spain & LATAM). However, we consider ourselves something more (and different) than a standard representation company. Our approach is comprehensive and personalized, offering an added value in the services we provide to travel agents.

Our main purpose is to facilitate and enhance the connection between our DMC partners and travel agencies or tour operators. We become part of the DMC team, we are directly involved in all the processes of booking, sales, customer service and to tailor made the product we offer.

Knowing and experience the destinations first person, having solid experience working within the DMCs and having lived with the respective cultures allows us to act as a bridge to streamline understanding (culturally and linguistically) in between.

What services does Wetouring offers?

We offer a personalized service for both sides; our DMC partners and our clients, the travel agents. The main ones are summarized as follows:

  • Sales and Marketing representation for DMC.
  • Market Intelligence. Knowledge of cultural aspects, requirements and trends to adapt the product to the needs of the market.
  • Regular visits to travel agencies for product updates, share destination news, promotions and sales support. Daily contact via phone, email, whatsapp and videoconference if needed.
  • Attending travel agencies in any new request and reservation for the destinations we represent.
  • Support in travel itinerary design and the booking process, before, during and after the trip.
  • Exhaustive follow-up of new requests, we ensure that travel agents receive a response within 24-48 hours and we make sure that they get full support to convert the booking.
  • Comprehensive and personalized attention.
  • Training and presentations of destinations, product, travel itineraries.
  • Periodic sales reports.
  • Participation in the most important tourism fairs for the Spanish-speaking market.
  • Organization of training sessions for groups of agencies with the participation of one or several DMC’s.
  • Monthly newsletter. Social networks, mainly LinkedIn where we tend to be very active and have more than 4k followers.
  • Organizing FAM trips so that travel agents have the opportunity to get to know the destination and its operations in first person.  

We using a personalized email address for each DMC getting 100% involved in their operations.

Before growing in quantity by adding more DMCs and destinations, we prioritize quality service. We prefer to grow solidly and slowly in order to establish a commercial relationship with our partners that will be fruitful in the long term. We are not looking for quick and aggressive sales, but rather for a stable and long-lasting profit in a cost-effective strategy.
